The Astro4Dev Full Moon Mashups Are Back!!!
We are thrilled to announce the return of the Astro4Dev Full Moon Mashups! At the OAD, we believe that the challenges we face today cannot be solved in isolation. Each discipline brings its own unique strengths and perspectives, and by combining these, we can unlock new possibilities. The Full Moon Mashups are designed as an open platform where ideas flow freely, creativity takes centre stage, and interdisciplinary collaboration thrives.
Whether you’re an astronomer, an educator, an artist, a healthcare professional, or a policy expert, these mashups offer a space to connect, brainstorm, and build partnerships that drive meaningful impact. Past discussions have sparked creative projects, inspired novel approaches, and strengthened networks across a variety of sectors.
Each session will feature a guided discussion around a specific development theme, followed by open-floor conversations to exchange ideas and collaborate.
The sessions will be hybrid (on Zoom and streamed on Youtube). If you would like to join in on the conversation, please register for the zoom link.

Upcoming sessions
Join the conversation with Sara Schacht, Director of Care for Big Bear, the sustainable tourism organisation of Big Bear Lake, as we explore the role of dark sky tourism in conserving natural resources and protecting our night skies.
Artificial light at night continues to increase globally, washing out the stars and disrupting natural systems. Light pollution affects astronomy, but it also impacts wildlife behaviour, human health, energy use, and cultural traditions tied to the sky.
Astrotourism offers a powerful response. When communities protect their darkness, they create destinations rooted in authenticity, environmental care, and cultural storytelling.
