The Astro4Dev Full Moon Mashups Are Back!!!
We are thrilled to announce the return of the Astro4Dev Full Moon Mashups! These are monthly meetings that aim to explore what could come from brainstorming across disciplines about development challenges. We recognize that different fields have different strengths, and if brought together, they could have a positive impact and generate meaningful outcomes.
These meetings will take place on the Friday closest to the full moon at 11:00 AM SAST.
Previous mashups have tackled exciting topics such as “Astronomy for Mental Health,” exploring how the wonders of the universe can support well-being, and “Fake News and Critical Thinking,” addressing the challenges of misinformation and promoting evidence-based reasoning.
The next Full Moon Mashup will be held online on 14 February 2025. We are excited to announce that Anna Levin, the author of “Dark Skies”, will be our guest for this meeting. The book highlights topics such as astronomy for mental health and well-being, as well as astrotourism. Join us as we unpack these topics that align closely with our flagship projects – astrotourism and astronomy for mental health, we look forward to exploring them further during the session. You can register here for this online session.
