The project received substantial financial support from the University of Namibia Department of Physics which was used towards the purchase of a camera system for the telescope, as described in the project. The project team then invited experts from South Africa to help set-up the system after it had finally arrived in Namibia. During test runs, it was found that a small camera, supposed to be used for the guiding, was apparently damaged already and needs to be replaced.
Some small “consumables” (like lens cleaning equipment, dust caps, etc.) were also bought. The project grant will be spent on a camera particularly well suited for occultation observations. Quotations have been finally received and the equipment needs to be ordered.
The project has been delayed due to unavailability of students and staff. The aims/objectives of the project are the same but the timescales are quite a bit different
